Green Wall

The new feature wall in the atrium at Minto Place is getting its final fluffing.

Minto Place's makeover has produced a series of surprising reveals.

Rising almost the full height of the atrium is a vertical plantscape composed of contrasting rectangles of greenery - mostly Pothos.
The wall was under a green shroud for many months as supports for the stainless steel framed armature were being installed.

These green walls are reputed to have beneficial air cleaning and cooling properties. They look pretty cool too.
After the shrouded scaffolding came down, the future green wall lay waiting behind this yawning expanse of polyethylene sheeting - and a huge job of red tuck-taping.

Take the escalator up to the mezzanine level of the Minto Place Hotel for a full view of the green wall.

The east end of the atrium has had a major makeover as well. It's been reclad in stone.
During which time, the large seascape paintings were taken down and safely housed inside these custom-fitted plywood boxes.

Minto Place's through-block connection (Lyon-to-Kent) will be soon be complete. Well worth the detour.
